Elderly E Phone With Face Recognition (The Concept)

Elderly E Phone With Face Recognition (The Concept)
Chinese developers have presented a concept phone for the elderly,
called Elderly E Phone. According to the authors of the project,
the modern phones, that are being offered for this age group,
though, and are inexpensive, but they have very few functions as to be expected.

The convenience of face recognition is evident in photography and social sites
where people are automatically tagged. Extending this concept to telephones,
the Elderly E Phone uses image recognition rather than a keypad for the entering
of phone numbers. It is aimed at the silver generation, who have a hard time dialing
 or remembering numbers.

Therefore, elderly people who refused to use the phone book in the mobile phone,
because it was hard to make out the text on the screen and had to type every time
the entire number, can now forget about the problem. Elderly E Phone – an interesting
concept that shows how modern technology can help elderly people.

I’m sure many designers have picked up and realized  that there is a big demand
and rise with the amount of elderly people now using technology more then ever.

How does a geyser work

How does a geyser work?

Geysers are a stunning sight as they shoot huge jets of hot water high into the air. They are only seen at relatively few of the world's active hot springs, with the main ones being in Yellowstone National Park, USA, Dolina Geizerov, Kamchatka, Russia and EI Taito, Chile. The eruptions can occur at regular intervals or be entirely unscheduled, depending on the way in which water flows into the underground caverns where it is heated by volcanic activity. The pressure gradually builds up as water is heated to temperatures above boiling point. Only when the temperature is well above 100°C, do steam bubbles start to rise through narrow channels leading to the surface, blasting fountains of mineral-charged water and steam high into the air.

what is a Hologram

what is a Hologram?

In a photograph, the image of the object that you see on paper is a flat one. Holograms are different. They give a three -dimensional image of an object using the special light from a laser. Unlike photography, which only records the brightness and contrast of any object, a hologram records brightness, contrast, and depth.

The first hologram was produced in 1948 by Dr. Dennis Gabor, a researcher at the imperial College of London. Gabor's early holograms were created without the use of laser, Since laser wasn't invented until 1960. Therefore, his holograms were only capable of showing the slightest amount of depth about the thickness of a postage stamp.

With the invention of the laser in 1960, researchers finally had the proper type of light to begin recording an object dimensionally. These early holograms required laser to both record, and view the image. It wasn't long, however, before new techniques allowed the hologram, although still requiring a laser to record, to be viewed with ordinary light.

The expensive lasers of the past have been replaced by the inexpensive laser pointer of today, which makes creating a hologram quite easy.

How GPS works

The global positioning system (GPS) is made up of many satellites that are constantly transmitting to Earth very precise time signals produced with the aid of atomic clocks. Because the satellites are positioned at various distances from the receiver, it is possible to calculate the position of the receiver from the satellites' orbits and the time delays experienced in receiving the signals-provided the signals are received from at least four satellites. There is a problem, however.

The GPS satellites travel through space at 14,000km/h. Because of their speed, the clocks on board the satellites-as predicted by Einstein's theory or relativity-run slower than clocks on Earth.

There is also a second relativistic effect caused by the Earth's gravitational field being a little weaker in orbit than it is at ground level, and this causes the clocks on board the satellites to run a little faster than those on Earth.
Unfortunately, these two effects do not cancel each other out, and the navigation system has to make precise allowances for the temporal distortions caused by gravity and motion.

Since the divergence amounts to several kilometers a day, these corrections are essential if GPS is to get us to where we want to go.
